
More than 50 per cent of bus services in Melbourne use wheelchair-accessible buses, including both the SkyBus and NightRider services. The driver deploys a manual ramp from the front door of the bus to the kerb of the stop.
There are three levels of service for wheelchair accessible buses:

Many of Melbourne's bus stops are compatible with the ramps of wheelchair-accessible buses. If you are in doubt about whether or not a bus stop is wheelchair-accessible please contact the operator for more route-specific information.
Improvements have been made to bus stops along Springvale, Blackburn Wellington and Warrigal Roads in Melbourne's eastern suburbs as part of the SmartBus program.
More than 400 bus stops along the three routes are wheelchair-accessible while tactile tiles have been installed at 14 stops to improve accessibility for people with a vision impairment.
