Yarra Trams has scheduled extra trams for footy fans heading to the MCG and Telstra Dome during the 2008 AFL season.

MCG

In addition to the regular timetabled services on Routes 48, 70 and 75, special MCG/Football shuttle trams will run for approximately two hours before and one hour after each match.

Football fans can catch the ‘footy specials’ from the city:

• In Flinders Street (at any tram stop between Market Street and the MCG)
• In Spencer Street (at any tram stop between Lonsdale Street and the MCG)

Telstra Dome

In addition to the regular timetabled services on Routes 48, 75 and 86, special Telstra Dome/Football shuttle trams will run for approximately two hours before and one hour after each match.

Football fans can catch the ‘footy specials’ from the city:

• In Victoria Parade (at any tram stop between Nicholson Street and the Telstra Dome) – travelling via La Trobe Street.
• Royal Exhibition Building (at any tram stop between Royal Exhibition Building and Telstra Dome) – travelling via Bourke Street.

Keep in mind that trams will be busier than usual so please plan your journey, buy your Metcard before you ride and allow extra time.
