There are over 300 bus routes across Melbourne servicing cross-suburban travel, CBD trips for commuters, connections to train stations, major shopping centres, and leisure and sporting venues.

Many of Melbourne's bus routes have been upgraded and run 6am - 9pm Monday - Friday, 8am - 9pm Saturday and 9am - 9pm Sunday.

SmartBus routes are key cross-town services that travel on major roads.  They offer extended operating hours, more frequent services and are operated exclusively by low floor buses.

School buses run throughout Melbourne on school days and are generally not available for public use.
