Connex SMS updates

Connex is the first public transport company in Australia to introduce SMS updates. SMS updates is a service that lets you know when metropolitan train services have been disrupted, cancelled or delayed by more than fifteen minutes, via text message to your mobile phone. The service is available from Monday to Friday, 6.00am to 8.00pm and is free of charge.

How to use Connex SMS updates To register go to SMS updates on Connex Melbourne’s website, fill in your details, nominate the line you travel, your departure and arrival stations and the times you usually travel. A confirmation SMS will then be sent. Replying yes to this SMS will complete your registration. You will also be sent an email confirming your log-in details to keep for your records.

Connex SMS timetables

SMS timetables allows you to receive personalised train timetable information via your mobile phone. The most you will pay is 55 cents (inc GST) per SMS.

The service will return a SMS listing the relevant next four train departure and arrival times.

You can also specify a time and a date if you are travelling at a later time. This service is system wide so if a journey requires you to change trains, not only will you receive the departure and arrival times but also the station and departure times for the connecting trains.

SMS timetables feeds you up-to-the-minute timetable information for all weekday services between 6.00am and 8.00pm, including recently cancelled trains and extra services during special events. Scheduled timetables are available all other times.
