New bus lanes on Victoria Parade

Important information about updated bus timetables on Victoria Parade

An updated timetable for bus routes  302, 303, 304, 305, 309, 318, 350, 905, 906, 907 and 908 will be implemented in the next four weeks.

This update was previously scheduled Sunday 23 August, but PTV has identified that there are some issues with the passenger information displays at stops and on board buses. This issue also affects the real time data that is available to customers on the PTV app.

As we will not be able to provide information in all of our channels accurately, PTV is deferring this change.

Along Victoria Parade this will mean that the new bus stops will not be in use. We thank customers for their patience and want to reassure them that the updated timetable will commence in four weeks (Sunday 20 September).

In the meantime, services will be running to the existing bus timetable.

What this means for customers:

• Buses on Victoria Parade will operate on the existing  timetable
• Passengers should use the existing  timetable until further notice
• Buses will operate from the existing bus stops.  The new bus stops will not be used until the updated timetable starts.

Information about the new bus lanes and updated timetables for Victoria Parade (from Sunday 20 September)

New dedicated bus lanes and stops along Victoria Parade have been completed and will improve the reliability of bus services during peak hours.

Bus routes 302, 303, 304, 305, 309, 318, 350, 905, 906, 907, and 908 will no longer travel on Albert Street and Gisborne Street, but instead travel along Victoria Parade and Spring Street into Lonsdale Street. 

Several bus stops will be removed and replaced by nearby new stops.

There will also be select other service changes:

• The recently added 303 stop at Doncaster Park & Ride will become a permanent stop
• Afternoon timetables for routes 282, 364 and 380 will be slightly adjusted to better meet the needs of schools

New stops to the city are located on Victoria Parade;

• Between Simpson Street and Hoddle Street (Approximately 40m east of Simpson Street).
• Between Clarendon Street and Eades Street (Approximately 50m west of Clarendon Street) - Freemasons Medical Centre
• Between Lansdowne Street and Morrison Place (Approximately 60m east of Morrison Place) - Eye and Ear Hospital.
• Between Spring Street and Nicholson Street (Approximately 30m west of Nicholson Street) - St Vincents Hospital.

New stops from the city are located on Victoria Parade;

• Between Nicholson Street and Fitzroy Street (Approximately 20m east of Nicholson Street) - St Vincents Hospital.
• Between Young Street and Napier Street (Approximately 15m east of Young Street) - Australian Catholic University.
• Between Smith Street and Cambridge Street (Approximately 100m west of Smith Street).
• Between Cromwell Street and Islington Street (Approximately 40m west of Cromwell Street).

 

All routes will have minor timetable adjustments, check your timetable for service times.
