Latest news
Thank you to everyone who took part in the recent consultation period on the design and location of the new station at Southland. We are currently collating and analysing all the responses we received.
We are also refining the design of the station based on the information we collected. We will make the results of consultation and the updated station design available in the coming months once this process has been completed.
The Expressions of Interest (EOI) for the construction of the project has now closed and the project team is evaluating the submissions that were received. This process will identify a group of potential construction contractors with the capacity and capability to successfully build the new station at Southland.
Construction due to commence later in 2015, with the new station expected to open in 2017.
