Ringwood Station and Interchange Upgrade
Cost
$66 million
Timeframe
Start: September 2014
Complete: early 2016
Current works taking place at Ringwood Station
Works to upgrade Ringwood Station and the bus interchange are progressing well.
Platforms 1 and 2 were closed for three weeks in July/August so that works could be undertaken to resurface Platform 1, relocate the 1891 heritage listed timber station building on Platform 1, and install new ramps and stairs connecting Platforms 1 and 2 to the new pedestrian concourse. Train passengers now access Platforms 1 and 2 through new Myki gates located on the concourse.
Relocation of Ticket Office
The Ticket Office at the entrance to Platform 3 will be temporarily closed while the station building is upgraded. Tickets will be available from the new Ticket Office on the pedestrian concourse. At project completion, there will be two ticket offices - one on the concourse, the other at the entrance to the station building on Platform 3.
Temporary carpark closure
The car park on Station Street is temporarily closed until the end of October.
Alternative parking areas are available on the south side of Maroondah Highway, just east of Warrandyte Road and at Costco on Market Street in Ringwood. Parking is still available at the Thanet Court car park.
Regular carpark users will be kept informed of carpark closures and alternative parking options via posters at the Station Street carpark and announcements at the station. Rail customers are encouraged to use alternative transport to the station while works to upgrade the station are being undertaken.

Bus stop locations
All buses currently depart and drop off at stops along Maroondah Highway and in the temporary bus interchange in Railway Place. Maps are displayed throughout the station precinct showing the location of bus stops for each bus route. Directional signage is also in place to guide customers to their bus stops.
