The Syndal Station Multi-Deck Car Park Project will deliver a four-level car park with 250 parking spaces. It will be built at the western end of the existing Syndal Station car park near the corner of Blackburn Road and Coleman Parade.

Temporary closure of the pedestrian subway access from Coleman Parade

From Saturday 19 September to Monday 28th September. the pedestrian subway access from Coleman Parade to the station will be closed.

This closure will allow the project team to undertake some important works in the lead up to the completion of the carpark upgrade at the station.

A detour will be in place and Metro Trains customer service staff will be on site to assist customers with the temporary access route.

Temporary closure of car parks

Part of the Syndal Station car park is closed to allow for construction. Public Transport Victoria has worked with Monash Council to identify alternative parking options for customers during construction.

We encourage customers to plan their trip to Syndal Station and allow extra time to access the station during construction.

Directional signs will show you the way to and from the station entrances. For your safety please follow the signs and the instructions of workers and traffic controllers.

Project description

The Syndal Station Multi-Deck Car Park Project will deliver a four-level car park with 250 parking spaces. It will be built at the western end of the existing Syndal Station car park near the corner of Blackburn Road and Coleman Parade.

The new car park will provide 250 new parking spots for station users, bringing the total number of spaces to 590.

The project will provide:

  • A new concrete multi-deck car park (ground floor plus three levels) with 250 parking spaces
  • Façade treatment to the exterior of the car park incorporating natural air circulation
  • Lighting and CCTV cameras
  • Landscaping and signage improvements
  • A secure bicycle cage with 26 spaces.

Project benefits

  • Syndal Station is one of the busiest stations on the Glen Waverley line, with over 2,600 customers using the station each weekday.
  • Extending the Syndal Station car park will increase convenience for public transport users as it will reduce the amount of time customers currently spend searching for car parking.
  • A larger car park will reduce demand and congestion on the local road network and decrease the number of cars using on-street parking, providing more parking options for local residents and visitors to local businesses.
