Geelong's newest railway station officially opened on Sunday 12 October.

The new station provides residents in Geelong's growing southern suburbs including Grovedale and the Surf Coast with improved access to the Geelong and Warrnambool line trains.

Waurn Ponds Station is serviced by more than 100 return services a week including four trains in the morning peak and three in the afternoon peak.

Project description

The new Waurn Ponds Station has been built on the north side of the existing Geelong-Warrnambool rail line, between Oakwood Crescent and Rossack Drive.

The station provides easy access to the Surf Coast, Torquay and Geelong's fast-expanding southern suburbs. It now also provides commuters an alternative to using Marshall Station.

Bus Routes 14 and 19 connect the station to the surrounding area, including Waurn Ponds Shopping Centre and Deakin University.
