Protected Disclosure Act
The Protected Disclosure Act 2012 repealed the Whistleblowers Protection Act 2001 and created a new legislative framework for receiving protected disclosures and protecting those who make them. Under the Protected Disclosure Act, the Independent Broad-based Anti-corruption Commission has a key role in receiving, assessing and investigating disclosures about corrupt or improper conduct as well as responsibility for preparing and publishing guidelines to assist public bodies to interpret and comply with the new protected disclosures regime.
