Digital products
PTV has a number of digital products it has made public as part of a commitment to creating open access to our data and information.
We encourage developers to use the datasets to produce digital products to assist users of public transport.
PTV also has its own mobile apps.

Victorian public transport data
A GTFS format of PTV’s public transport data is now available on the DataVic website.
NEW RELEASE: The PTV Timetable API provides dynamic access to the raw timetable data for all metropolitan and regional train, tram and bus services in Victoria (including real-time data for metropolitan tram and bus services where this data is made available to PTV).

Train
Train Corridor Centreline depicts a spatial object (polyline) representing the centre of a series of tracks ie multiple parallel tracks are represented as a single line. A segment name is attributed to the centreline.
Train Station depicts a spatial object (point) representing the location. It is attributed with the PTV (Metlink) ID, Station Name, Type, Zone and Train Mode.
PTV Train Station Bike Storage
Bike Storage depicts a spatial object (point) representing the location of bike storage at metropolitan railway stations. Each bike storage point has attributes that describe the station name, locker type and capacity.
Depicts a spatial object (polygon) representing the outline of train car parks at metropolitan railway stations. Each train car park polygon has attributes that describe the Station name and commuter capacity.
Train Station Platform depicts a spatial object (polygon) which represents the outline of a train platform. The Station Name and Platform number is attributed to the polygon.
Train Track Centreline depicts a spatial object (polyline) representing the centre of two rails (two rails make up a train track) and the facility name, rail gauge and electrification status attributes.
Tram
Tram Routes depict a spatial object (polyline) representing the master (publicly known) route. Each tram route has attributes that describe Route Name, Destination (from, to, via) Route Path and Operator.
Tram Track Centreline depicts a spatial object (polyline) representing the centre of two rails (two rails make up a track) and the facility name attribute.
Tram Stops depict a spatial object (point) representing the location of the stop. Each stop has attributes that describe the PTV (Metlink) ID, Tram Tracker ID, Stop Number, Routes using the stop and Ticket Zone.
Bus
Bus Routes Metro depicts a spatial object (polyline) representing the master (publicly known) route. Each bus route has attributes that describe Direction, Destination (from, to, via), Route and Operator.
Bus Routes Regional depicts a spatial object (polyline) representing the master (publicly known) routes in regional Victoria. Each bus route has attributes that describe Destination (to), Route Description and Operator Name.
PTV Bus Stop (Metro and Regional)
Bus Stops depicts a spatial object (point) representing the location of the public bus stop. It does not include Country Free School Bus stops. Each stop has attributes that describe the PTV (Metlink) ID, Stop Name, Zone and Bus Routes using the stop.
